Fresh rosemary sprigsfor topping
Flaky sea saltfor topping
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
Add the flour, salt, and 1/4 cup olive oil to the bowl. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with olive oil.
Transfer the dough to the prepared pan. Using your fingers, press the dough evenly to fill the pan, making dimples all over the top.
Drizzle more olive oil over the dough, then top with fresh rosemary and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before cutting into squares.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality olive oil for a rich flavor. You can experiment with toppings like garlic, rosemary, or Parmesan cheese to make it your own. Be sure to let the dough rise in a warm place for a light and airy texture.
