Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast 1 packet
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil plus extra for drizzling
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for topping
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
  • Add the flour, salt, and 1/4 cup olive oil to the bowl. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with olive oil.
  • Transfer the dough to the prepared pan. Using your fingers, press the dough evenly to fill the pan, making dimples all over the top.
  • Drizzle more olive oil over the dough, then top with fresh rosemary and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality olive oil for a rich flavor. You can experiment with toppings like garlic, rosemary, or Parmesan cheese to make it your own. Be sure to let the dough rise in a warm place for a light and airy texture.
